The 43.04-meter long and 7-meter wide tunnel on Plavinu Street in Jekabpils (formerly Krasta Street) was built at the same time as the Krustpils - Jekabpils railway bridge. The tunnel, opened in 1936, is one of a few monolithic reinforced concrete parabolic structures in Latvia. The bridge blew up during World War II, but the tunnel has survived to the present day with its original pavement.
